Presentation

Simone Beta studies classical theater (especially Greek and Latin comedy), rhetoric (with a focus on enigma), epigrammatic poetry, the tradition and fortune of ancient culture, wine and the symposium.

He has trained in Italy (BA and PhD, Università statale di Milano) and the United States (MA, Duke University).

He has participated in conferences and lectured in Italy and abroad (France, UK, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Poland, Israel, USA, Canada).

He teaches classical philology, Greek language and literature, and text criticism.

He has published books, essays and articles in Italian, English and French.

He has translated into Italian Aristophanes (Lysistrata), Sophocles (Antigone), Terence (Andria), Martial (the epigrams), and Quintilian (the Institutio oratoria).
