Dr. Giuseppe Varnier (Perf. Scuola Normale Superiore - Pisa) is Senior Fellow and Ass. Prof. of Epistemology at the Department of Social, Political and Cognitive Sciences (DISPOC).
He teaches Epistemology, Philosophy of Mind.
Giuseppe Varnier received both his graduate and undergraduate education from the University of Pisa and the Scuola Normale Superiore, Pisa. He also studied, with DAAD scholarships, at the Ruhr-Universität in Bochum and at the Hegel-Archiv there. He was a fellow (with a CNR scholarship) of the Center for the History and Philosophy of Science di Boston (BU). He published various essays, in Italian, German and English, on Kant, Hegel, German idealism and modern skepticism, and on the theory of consciousness. He works now also on philosophy of mind and analytic epistemology, especially qualia and indexicality. He has taught History of Contemporary Philosophy and now Epistemology and Philosophy of Mind at the Siena DISPOC Department. He is a member of SIFA, ESAP, SILFS, of the Hegel-Gesellschaft and of the Hegel-Vereinigung. He is habilitated as Professor for both Theoretical Philosophy and Philosophy of Language.
