Gionata Salvietti received the Master's degree in Computer Engineering and the PhD in Information Engineering from the University of Siena, Siena, Italy, in 2009 and 2012, respectively. He was a postdoctoral researcher at the Italian Institute of Technology from 2012 to 2015. He was a Visiting Researcher at the DLR Institute for Robotics and Mechatronics in 2012 and a Visiting Student with the TAMS group, University of Hamburg, in 2008. Since 2024, he has been Principal Investigator for the University of Siena unit for the Erasmus+ European project "Immersive Surgical Edu" and since 2023 for the PRIN "ARTIS". Since 2022, he has been Associate Editor of the IEEE Transaction on Robotics and since 2020 of the IEEE Transaction on Haptics. His research interests are collaborative robotics, assistive devices, and haptics.
