Elena Pessot, Ph.D., is Associate Professor in Management Engineering at the Department of Information Engineering and Mathematics (DIISM) of the University of Siena.
She teaches Laboratory and Business Management for the BSc in Management Engineering and Manufacturing Strategies and Operations for the MSc in Engineering Management. She is Delegate to the Placement of the DIISM and a task force member supporting the Delegate of the Rector to the Placement (Professor Claudia Faleri).She is a member of the Teaching Committee of the Master's Degree in Engineering Management.
She holds a Ph.D. in Industrial and Information Engineering from the University of Udine and was a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Intelligent Industrial Systems and Technologies for Advanced Manufacturing of the National Research Council of Italy (STIIMA-CNR). Her scientific interests are in the areas of digital transformation and Industry 4.0, open and social innovation, and complexity management in companies and supply chains. Her main publications appeared in the Journal of Business Research, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, International Journal of Operations and Production Management, and International Journal of Production Economics. She has professional experience in logistics management and has participated as a researcher in several EU-funded and national projects on digital transformation, Industry 4.0, and strategic and open innovation.
