Full Professor of Geography (s.d. M-GGR/01) at the Department of Historical Sciences and Cultural Heritage of the University of Siena, where she has been teaching since 1999. Graduated from the University of Florence, she has a PhD in Historical Geography and Landscape-Territorial Organization (Florence-Genoa, 2002). She has been carrying out scientific research since 1993 and collaborates with Italian and foreign universities and with local authorities, especially in Tuscany, on: themes and problems of the landscape, the environment and the history of the territory with special attention to Tuscany, enhancement of cultural heritage, analysis and census of geo-historical sources, in particular cartography of the fifteenth-nineteenth centuries. She is scientific director of www.imagotusciae.it and www.toscanatirrenica.it web applications. Her third mission activity is very intense, dedicated to the promotion of knowledge, protection and enhancement of cultural heritage, with particular attention to teacher training.
