Patrizia Gabrielli is full professor of Contemporary History and Gender History. Since 2008 she is member of the Scientific board for the PhD program in Historical-Literary and Gender Studies at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”; has carried out teaching activities in some European universities.
She has coordinated several research projects, among the most recent Elette ed eletti. Rappresentanza e rappresentazioni di genere nell’Italia Repubblicana.
She directs the journal “Storia e Problemi Contemporanei”, and she is on the Scientific Committee of “Primapersona”; “Transalpina” (Université de la Basse Normadie, France); “Storia contemporanea in Friuli”; “Bibliomanie”; “Revista de historiographia” (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Spain), “Revista Internacional de Culturas y Literaturas” (Universidad de Sevilla, Spain). Since 2019 she directs the series Archivio Diaristico Nazionale di Pieve Santo Stefano (Rubbettino).
She is on the National board of Saverio Tutino Award (Archivio diaristico Nazionale di Pieve di S. Stefano); of Scientific Committee of the San Marino Center of Historical Studies at the University of San Marino; honorary member of the Center of Interdisciplinary Gender Studies at the University of Trento.
The research activity, preferring a gender perspective, mainly focused on the World Wars; on the History of Antifascism and Republican Italy. Particular attention has been paid to self-narrative writings, women's movements, and forms of circulation of political discourse.
She is author of several volumes and numerous essays; has edited documentary exhibitions and the publication of the website www.eletteedeletti.it. She received awards and prizes. She participated and collaborated in some broadcasts of RAI Storia, among these the documentaries "Alba De Céspedes. Vivere per scrivere" e "Volere votare".
Since 2024 she is member of the Acqui Storia Award Jury.
