Tiziana Chiappelli, Ph.D. is researcher in General and Social Pedagogy at the Department of Social, Political and Cognitive Sciences, University of Siena (Italy). Her research focuses on processes of social, educational, and cultural inclusion and exclusion affecting minoritised groups, with particular attention to international migration, gender, and the construction and transformation of identities in intercultural contexts. Her current research explores the intersections between intercultural pedagogy, gender, embodiment, and decolonial perspectives, with a particular focus on how educational institutions and social practices shape processes of recognition, legitimacy, and participation.
She has participated in several national and European research projects and has conducted extensive fieldwork across Europe, North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America. Her methodological expertise includes mixed methods research, qualitative inquiry, participatory and co-constructive research, and social impact evaluation.
She is the author of books, book chapters, and peer-reviewed publications on migration, gender, intercultural education, dialogic learning, and inclusive educational policies.
