Prof. Steven Loiselle è un professore associato alla Università degli Studi di Siena, un associate del CNR IREA, Earthwatch Europe e del NIGLAS (China). Ha guidato in diversi progetti di ricerca indirizzati allo studio e la gestione degli ecosistemi acquatici in Asia, Africa, Europa e America Latina. La ricerca del dott. Loiselle si è concentrata sullo sviluppo dei nuovi strumenti per lo studio delle dinamiche degli ecosistemi acquatici nel contesto di megatrend globali, compresi i cambiamenti climatici e l'urbanizzazione, dando vita a numerosi pubblicazioni in riviste internazionale. Sta svolgendo attività di ricerca in diversi progetti Europei (MONOCLE, BioGeoLakes, MICS) e nazionale, ed è fondatore del programma internazionale di citizen science FreshWater Watch.
