Presentation

The research activity, funded by national and international bodies, focuses on the study of the molecular mechanisms of angiogenesis with potential therapeutic implications in the field of cardiovascular, ocular and neoplastic diseases. Scientific production consists in the publication of more than 150 scientific works, reviews and on invite chapters, of international relevance. The active research lines concern the pharmacological and safety characterization of new synthetic and natural molecules in the processes of angiogenesis and endothelial dysfunction, and biomaterials with a potential use in aesthetic and regenerative medicine. The study of mechanical stimuli on endothelial functions and stromal cells such as absence of gravity, lasers, nanoparticles is also of interest.
