Marzia Marcheselli is a Full Professor of Statistics at the Department of Economics and Statistics of the University of Siena. She graduated in Statistics and Economics at the University of Siena in 1993 and she received her PhD in Applied Statistics at the University of Florence in 1998.
Her main research interests concern sampling strategies to estimate species abundances, species richness and biodiversity indexes in environmental surveys. She focuses on a design-based approach. Recently, she has been focusing on mapping attributes of interest, such as coverage and diversity indexes, throughout a study region. She has published in the most prestigious statistics journals.
