BASILI MARCELLO

Presentation

Marcello Basili is associate professor of Economics at the Department of Economics and Statistics of the University of Siena. He graduated in Economics (theoretical), specialized in Banking and received his D.Phil. in Economics at Siena.  He got Visiting-Grant-for Environmental Economics at The Program of Information and Resources (PIR), part of the Columbia Earth Institute, Columbia University NY USA, and Fellowship of The Italian Academy at Columbia University NY US.

His main fields of interest are: decision theory under risk or uncertainty and application to different scientific disciplines: AI, Robotic, Avionics, Medicine, Environment, Finance, Engineering, Physics, Environment and Epidemiology. He pays particular attention to theoretical methods and historical representation of decision-making problems. He published extensively in the economics journals and is quoted and commented in Generalist Journals such as Nature Climate Change, etc
