Presentation

Simone Gitto, PhD, is Associate Professor of Business and Management Engineering at the University of Siena (Italy). He teaches Introduction to Business Administration and Managerial Economics. Previously, he was Associate Professor at University of Udine, Assistant Professor at the University of Rome Tor Vergata and research scholar at the John E. Walker Department of Economics, Clemson University, SC. His main research interests include: management engineering, digital transformation, healthcare management, efficiency, productivity and economic growth, energy policy, forecasting methods and air transport management.

He is member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Management Decision and he has edited special issues for Research in Transportation Economics and Management Decision.

He has been principal investigator or member of research projects. He was recognized as an inventor with a patent issued.

His research has been published in international refereed journals, including British Journal of Management, International Journal of Production Economics, Review of Public Personnel Administration, Journal of Productivity Analysis, Management Decision, Journal of Cleaner Production, Socio-Economic Planning Science, Technological Forecasting and Social change, Flexible Services and Manufacturing Journal, Transportation Research Part A, Journal of Air Transport Management, Transportation Research Part E.
