Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Siena, Italy. Ph.D. in Economics from the same institution. Holds a MSc. degree in Economics from the Centre for Development and Regional Planning, Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil, and a BSc. in Economics from the University of Brasília, Brazil. Research interests range from economic growth and technological-institutional change to real-financial market interactions and the economics of climate change. Building on alternative theories of growth and distribution, recent contributions include the development and calibration of dynamic models with heterogeneous agents to investigate processes of structural change in modern economies. Scholarly papers have appeared in journals such as the Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization, Industrial and Corporate Change, Ecological Economics, Economic Modelling, Journal of Evolutionary Economics, Structural Change and Economic Dynamics, among others.
