I am a senior lecturer (with tenure track) in General Linguistics. I studied in Trento and Padua (where I received my PhD), and before moving to Siena I worked in Trento, Utrecht, Konstanz and Palermo. Each of these places has enriched me so much, both scientifically and in my personal life.
My research is mainly focused on the formal analysis of the natural languages: in this framework, I have investigated topics of syntax, dialectology (especially regional languages in Italy), Romance languages, language variation and language contact. I also study Ladin and the Italian dialects from a descriptive point of view.
This year I am teaching General Linguistics and Sociolinguistics for the students of Communication Sciences.
